How do we conceptualise the passing of time, the end of a day or the completion of a life cycle? My images seek to evoke a dialogue between the artist, the photograph and the period of time it takes to record and destroy an image. A unique moment in time is captured in an instant by the most ephemeral of media, Polaroid film. A Polaroid produces a unique image which rapidly decays. The act of taking a photograph which becomes, in itself, a process of decay; and the act of re-photographing the decaying negative even more so. The 2,491,344,000 series show an image dissolving as it records the relentless march of time. The last 4 images form part of ongoing project exploring the passage of time.
